Fixed or removable prosthetics: crowns, bridges, partial or complete dentures.

Everything that helps us replace lost dental pieces or rehabilitate those that have become severely deteriorated is part of dental prosthetics. We can talk about fixed prosthetics and removable prosthetics.
Fixed prosthetics are all those that once placed permanently, the patient cannot remove them. The only way would be at the clinic, with instruments used by the dentist. Removable prosthetics are those that the patient can put on and take off themselves whenever needed.
Fixed prosthetics include: individual crowns, crowns joined together (bridges), fixed prosthetics on implants, provisional crowns, and veneers and inlays.
Crowns can be made with various materials. Traditionally they are made with a metallic core with a ceramic coating in a color perfectly matched to the original color of adjacent teeth. Another option, more recommended for front teeth, would be a zirconia core for a more aesthetic result.

Removable prosthetics include complete dentures, partial dentures and provisional acrylic dentures. Complete dentures are used when the patient has lost all teeth, and partial when replacing only some.
They usually have an internal metallic reinforcement for structural strength and the rest is acrylic resin.
